Recognized by both museums & competitions, our work has been exhibited internationally in Japan, Seoul, Shanghai, London & Milan, & also led the Smithsonian's first National Design Triennial in New York. Further recognition includes several IDEA awards, Good Design awards, Red Dot, SPARK, & the Ten Avant-Garde team award, among others. Our work has been published in Fast Company, Surface, Interni, Paper, Chicago Tribune, Intramuros, Time Out Chicago, Interior Design, Abitare, Furniture Style, & Chicago Magazine, among others.

Streng’s early design principles were rooted in an understanding of emotional relationships between people, objects, & their environments. Today we maintain those core values with a refined approach.

Brothers Daniel & Chris Streng began their careers in the furniture design industry. While operating separate studios in the United States, they worked primarily in Milan, London, Tokyo, & New York.

In the early '90s, the two came together to found streng. That may seem like an obvious choice, but the brothers’ collaboration was actually accidental. Design event organizers began soliciting work from the two separately and as a pair. Then clients began calling for the other brother. This happened so often that Daniel & Chris realized, "We’re already perceived as a team—we might as well be one."

Now, 20 years later, the brothers have assembled & guided a dynamic group of designers whose impressive talents have grown the company to be the accomplished firm that it is today.
